Statistics Canada has a busy week ahead and will release data on Canada's international transactions in securities for August; investment in non-residential building construction from the third quarter; the monthly survey of manufacturing for August; retail trade figures for August and the consumer price index for September.

> BoC gauges business outlooks
The Bank of Canada will release the autumn issue of the Business Outlook Survey and the Senior Loan Officer Survey on Tuesday.

> Commence earnings season
A group of major Canadian companies will release earnings this week, including Fortis Inc. and A&W Revenue Royalties Income Fund (Monday), CP Rail (Tuesday), Corus Entertainment Inc (Wednesday), and Rogers Communications Inc. and Postmedia Network Canada Corp. (Thursday).
